20 years ago at the age of 19, my father Kevin Brice took me under his wing and trained me at his workshop in St.Albans.

At Brooklands Pianos I learnt how to tune, regulate pianos amongst other aspects of the piano trade.

In recent years, I have worked for Kawai UK where the pianos are tuned, regulated and voiced to a high standard

I have also carried out tuning's locally on behalf of companies such as Reid's Pianos (Tottenham), Josefs (Northamptonshire) and Tesoro Nero (Lancashire).

I pride myself on a quality, professional service with a friendly approach.

Piano Tuning

For 19 years, I have been providing comprehensive piano tuning and piano repair services to the piano trade, to school and colleges, theatres, churches and to individual customers in the Herts, Beds, Bucks and North London Area.

Piano Repairs

I can undertake any repair work necessary to Action, Keys, Strings, Tuning-pins, Bridges and Pedals "In Situe" or, where appropriate, have the workshop facilities to carry out restoration work to Actions & Keys.

Regulating & Toning (Voicing)

Regulation: The precise adjustment of Touch, Repetition. Escapement & Blow - spacing of Hammers. Levers and Dampers and adjusting the exact point of Damper lift, in order to maximize the evenness efficiency and performance of the mechanism. HammerRefacing &Voicing/Toning: The removal of the string cuts in the Hammer Felt and necessary reshaping together with needling the felt in such a way as to restore an evenness of tone throughout the compass and the dynamic range; and Valeting: Thorough cleaning out of action, keyboard. key-frame & carcass( including washing grand soundboards) often combined with cleaning & dry lubricating/reburnishing all points of contact within the action in order to reduce friction and remove squeaks.
